Roland C 30
Yamaha’s solution to these limitations was to turn the celesta's tone bars and resonators upside down and install a standard grand piano mechanism that struck them from below. As well as the performance advantages, a standard piano action makes the celeste much easier for piano engineers to adjust and mend if the need arises. Yamaha also included full size piano keys to make it as easy as possible for pianists to adapt to.
Like an upright piano, the CEL56P celesta has two pedals – one dampener and one sustain – providing players with a vast range of timbres and effects to explore. All the complex workings are housed in a luxurious oak veneer cabinet with a mahogany finish and metal grills through which the sound emanates. The keyboard features 56 smooth ivorite and ebony keys that cover a range of four and a half octaves from C4-F8, and there is a full-length music shelf built into the front panel above. The whole instrument sits on 4 lockable castors for safe mobility around stage.
